An Study on the Experiences of the Use of Babyboomer volunteers£º From the Perspectives of Staff working at the volunteer centers and citizen organizations
Chon Yong-Ho

Abstract
The aim of the exploratory study is to examine babyboomer`s voluntary work and their characteristics in volunteering in the filed. By adopting qualitative research method, the researcher conducted two focus group interviews with staffs at volunteer centers and non-governmental organizations in Seoul. The findings suggest that some babyboomer volunteers reported explicitly what they wanted to do and they recruited some new volunteers in a short period of time using their networkings, which is quite different from the characteristics of older people. However, some babyboomers were likely to leave the volunteer work easily and they had difficulties in forming good relationships with the staffs in volunteer organizations owing to the authoritative attitudes of volunteers. This was quite similar to the behaviour of the existing old volunteers.
